Let’s talk about chub rub
three great Chub Rub Prevention Methods:
Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel: It’s easily applied like a gel or lotion, but has a powder finish when applied. You may need to reapply but this is a great go-to when you don’t want to wear anti-chafing shorts.
Lume Deodorant and Lume Deodorant Wipes: Can be applied between folds and rolls. Some folks are not a fan of the smell so be aware of that. Great for odor control as well on sweaty days.
Mega Babe Thigh Rescue: Super popular selection; we’ve heard you have to apply many times, but for some, it’s their very favorite option!
**BONUS! You can always wear a pair of cute bike shorts under any dress or skirt for a layer of chub rub prevention!
IF YOU HAVE A RASH FROM CHUB RUB, HERE’S A TRIED AND TRUE METHOD FOR HEALING
After a long day at the beach or out and about sometimes a chub rub rash is inevitable, here is a simple nighttime routine to get the redness and sensitivity down:
Step 1: Take a shower and clean the area with a tea tree bases soap like Dr Bronner’s or Remedy Soap.
Step 2: Dry the area super well.
Step 3: Apply a talc-free medicated powder to the area (this will have a cooling sensation, make sure to start with less to ensure the sensation is tolerable) .
Step 4: If you are comfortable, sleep without undies to let the area dry out, or wear a loose-fitting pair of cotton underwear that is super breathable.
Step 5: Repeat nightly as needed; it shouldn’t take more than a couple of days. If the rash persists, use an anti-fungal wash like Hibiclens. If after a week the rash isn’t getting better, please go see your doctor.
**Coconut oil is a great thing to put on there after a shower in the morning to keep the area from rubbing, but also there is an anti-fungal property to coconut oil that helps with preventing underbelly/chub-rub funk.
