FAT LIBERATION

What is Fat Liberation?

Fat Liberation is a social justice movement rooted in the fact that all people deserve access to care, ethical treatment, and kindness regardless of their size, health, or physical ability. Fat Liberation seeks to dismantle the diet culture paradigm to shift into a community care centered approach to living. Through community care, there is a possibility for collective liberation. Fat Liberation was developed by black, queer, and feminist organizers and seeks to fight anti-fat bias to this day. Fat Liberation does not require one to love nor accept their body to be worthy of care, and believes that all people deserve to have governance over their own bodies.
